We have now surpassed 2600 new zealand pioneers added to the project, anyone interested in helping index the pioneers into the ships they are arrived on is most welcome to help out.

There are currently 32 Ship sub projects some of which are nearly complete, just need to conected the remaining passengers into the big tree.

Thanks to those of you that have helped :)

Thank you Jason! You have done so much work to help out those of us with ancestors in NZ. :)

Is there anything that I cn do Jason?

How are you uploading passenger lists? My ggg grandparents Richard and Mary Campbell arrived at Lytleton in 1876 on the Conflict from Belfast. I've found the passenger list, thanks to your links, which is the only published site. This site also contains numerous other lists that have family members on. I would also be happy to try and find others.

Regards

Jason

yes sure you are welcome to do as much as you like, i am creating seperate projects for the passenger lists, copying the list over then adding all the passengers who arrrived on the ship onto geni.

e.g heres the aurora passenger list (first settler ship to arrive in NZ)

http://www.geni.com/projects/New-Zealand-Settler-Ships-Aurora-1840/...

i have added 36 out of the 148 passengers so far.

Timandra passenger list by comparison is nearly complete http://www.geni.com/projects/New-Zealand-Settler-Ships-Timandra-184...

but the best thing to do is keep building out your tree, adding in the families of all the spouses who married into your family and connecting all our trees together horizontally

Hi,
My second great grandfather came to New Zealand in 1864 from Scotland to Bluff on the ship 'Arima'. when i try to add him to the project using the instructions, there is no option to 'add to project', and when i look at the ship list on the project pages, the 'Arima' is not listed.
Any thoughts?
I think this project is great and I hope I can contribute

hi Kate Laugesen is the profile public? you cant add proflles to projects if they are set to private. also you need to be following the project. you will also need to create a project for the arima to add him to, which i can help you with if you need

Hi, thanks for the info. I made the profile public, then added him to the project. I don't have any other passenger names for the ship Arima but if you would like to start a project file for the Arima then that is great - maybe someone else with a ancestor on the same ship will find it. How do I go about making a Arima project? I have another ship or two that I don't think are in the project yet either

go to projects page click create project, add in the passenger list and then you can add passengers to it

Do you intend to add names etc of soldiers who came out and fought in Maori Wars and remained after service

i'm keen to participate in "names etc of soldiers who came out and fought in Maori Wars and remained after service" I have been researching some of those and I may get some funding to dig deeper so yeah would be happy to share as much as possible back.

Will the process be transferable to other locations apart from Taranaki? i should look for projects of settlers in those places i suppose.

Can someone be added who does not have a profile? Someone who is not in a MyHeritage tree? If so how do I do it?
