Wow! I wondered what was going on with Geni. Today it was running so slow and last week the links to Find A Grave and Archives disappeared. I started to get nervous and downloaded my GEDCOM file. I am thankful to know they were purchased, because I was afraid they might shut down and I would lose YEARS of work. The only thing is: I don't like MyHeritage website or format as much as Geni, so I am concerned about the merge. I have accounts with both and chose to focus on Geni, because the website was so much more professional and easier to use. So I have mixed feelings about this news. What do you think?

geni is staying seperate from myheritage. we keep our platform, which is far superior in my opinion

This helps out a lot. Glad they are keeping them both separate sites for awhile. http://help.geni.com/forums/21545466-things-to-know

The question is, what is the benefit residual to those who have a pro account. The appear to have seriously downgraded it's worth...

Beth - I agree with you. I went to my account and took off the automatic renewal. I'm going to wait and see what changes they make and what the benifits of Pro are before I renew.
