Geni found a relationship path, and then I added more relatives and I want it to find a newer more direct path. How can I make it delete the old relationship path and search for a new one? I think I did this a long time ago, but I can't remember how.

You can, - Look for a double-arrow icon after the path. When the calculated path is getting old you would get it.

Another tip: If you don't see the icon because the calculated path is too recent and/or you know about a better path you can train Geni to use this by "walking the path".

When you view a profile you often see the "?through=xxx" parameter on the URL. This tells Geni that a path to this profile, either from you or another profile if you have used the green pushpin on a profile, should go through profile xxx (which is the profile ID which is the first number you see in a profile URL).

You train Geni by starting on a profile and then click on the name of a connected profile (like father), and open profile by profile along the path you want Geni to remember until you enters at the target profile.

More advanced usage, for example needed when you have private profiles in-between where you cannot click on connected profiles, is to manually construct an URL containing a ?through=xxx" parameter to the nearest profile you have access to or by bypassing the private profiles.

Thanks for those hints. I had "walked a path" one time before by simply following an old typed genealogy from my 2nd Great Grandmother, and I thought that was neat how Geni constructed the relationship path as I clicked from one generation to the next. I appreciate all your help!
