This Discussion is intended as a Log of the Data elided/ deleted at the stage of resolving Data Conflicts on this profile.
I have already resolved the Data Conflict, and am simply making sure that all the managers involved in that merge, know what data of theirs was removed.
I am doing this as a courtesy, against the possibility that the profile’s managers may want to be alerted to the opportunity to engage with the data choices. (Sending a private message means there is no record for any future managers of the profile - of which we hope there will be many.)
It is not a query, and it does not require a comment, unless you disagree with the way the Data Conflict was resolved, or you want to add useful info about the data at stake – that you think others can benefit from when resolving Data Conflicts on that profile in the future.

Birth Location: La Bauce, Guenrouet, Pays de la Loire, France OR Nantes, Loire-Atlantique, Pays de la Loire, France
http://huguenots-france.org/france/loire/nantes/pag2.htm#44 says:
"Gender: Male Birth: 18 June 1666 in, Villoin, Baptism: 29 June 1666 to 44 ER Blain, Loire ATLANTIC Godfather (paternal uncle) Pineau, Henry Godmother JOLAN, Suzanne"
Does anybody have a better sense of French geography than me to help pinpoint which of the two above is closer to ' Villoin'?
Re. Villoin, the place where Jacques & his siblings were born..I have now seen the site where this information came from, & I think that Villoin, may have been the name of the family property..They were all born there, at home, & then taken to nearby Blain later for baptism..Judging by his title he was a man of at least some substance.
I found some more information on a French site..Jacques Pineau ca 1630, who married Marthe Jollan..She was the daughter of Daniel Jollan, Sieur des Roches..He was the brother of Pierre Jollan, who died without issue..& Jacques Jollan de Clerville..(Jacques Jollan de C. married twice, & his family continues.)..Their parents were:Jean Jollann born 13th June 1537 in Guérande, Loire-Atlantique..He was Sieur de Beutebaud,& a Notary in Guérande..& his wife Jeanne le Marié......There was quite a bit of family history on the site, but I've put down here the most pertinent facts.

I don't think our Jacques was really a Pineau. His name is consistently spelt Pinart/Pinard in Delft and his signature is Jacque Pinard. Also, his birthdate is c 1664 according to the 'Voorschooten' passenger list, not 1666.
We should be researching Dreux and the Reformed church at La Fontaine-sous-Prémont, I would suggest.
I have found this site where 3 Pinart/Pinard's abjured the Calvinistic faith on 15 Nov 1785 @ Dreux. http://huguenots-france.org/france/centre/dreux/abjurations_dreux3.htm
One is M Pinard, one Jean Pinart and one Jacques Pinard. I think the third might be our man.
He was living in St Aechten at the time of his ondertrouw in Delft to Esther Fouche in 1687. He must have fled there after the abjuration and would have joined the Protestant community with a letter of attestation from La Fontaine-sous-Prémont.
I'll find it yet!
Hmm, yes me too. Once you two are happy with the answer you've come to, we can start the changes.
I'd like to wait a day or so to see if Caroline Balona Pienaar comes back to the other discussion to answer where she got the parents from, in case there's another factor to consider,
but I'm inclined to agree with you both here.
You never know - it may turn out that the Pinard's are interesting as well.
One thing: he was born in Dreux. See http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreux.
There were at least three churches circa 1660 in Dreux. One was Saint Pierre, another Saint-Jean-en-la-Plaine (both Catholic). The Protestant church was Fontaine-sous-Prémont, where Jacques would have been baptised, although the entry is not to be found here http://huguenots-france.org/france/centre/fontaine/fontaine.htm
The registers for the two catholic churches are here http://www.archives28.fr/ec/index.php
