Hello Everyone,

My great-grandfather, Benjamin Lapiner, emigrated from Rishkon, Bessarabia (now known as Moldova) somewhere between 1900-1915.

Benjamin and his wife Miriam Lapiner (my great-grandmother) actually ended their marriage because Benjamin wanted to relocate to Palestine/Israel; Miriam and their three children immigrated to America. The three children were Anna Lapiner (Sigman), Ida Lapiner (Feshbach), and Nate Lapiner. Anna immigrated to New York first, where she worked as a seamstress. Anna then paid for passage for her mother Miriam, sister Ida, brother Nate, and Nate's fiance, Dora Rich.

I think Benjamin Lapiner might have been a resident of the first kibbutz, and I believe he may have taken another wife once he landed in Israel. I would sincerely love to find this branch of my family, if it exists today in Israel.

Does anyone know how to search for Benjamin Lapiner, probably immigrating around 1910 or so?

Any help would be so appreciated!

Sincerely,
Margaret Bailey, MN, yinyangmaggie@yahoo.com

Do you know when Benjamin was born ?
I found a record of Miryam Lapiner a daughter of Benjamin Lapiner and Malka. Miryam was born 1909 and died in 1994 in Jerusalem. Couldn't find solid evidences for family records (husbend, children etc.). And maybe there is no connection since if she got married her name was diferent

Hello Danny :-)
I got goosebumps when I read your post! I have a very strong feeling this is my great-grandfather, as the birth of his daughter would coincide with Benjamin Lapiner's window of immigration. I'm at work right now, but when I get home, I'll find BL's date of birth. Thank you for your kindness!!!!!

Hello again,
Sorry I didn't post last night, got home so late from work and just ate and fell asleep. I think Benjamin would have been born around 1860, plus or minus 10 years on either side of that. My great-grandmother Miriam Lapiner was born in 1860, so that's how I'm calcu-guessing Benjamin Lapiner's age. I forgot I didn't have any real data for him, other than one 90 year old great aunt that still remembers her mother's stories about her father Benjamin.

If there is a way to attach a PowerPoint, I would love to share how I put all the pieces of my genealogy puzzle together. It's a loving tribute to the relatives, honoring their triumphs and travails. Lest we forget!
Thanks again for your kindness and input!

Hi Margaret

I have found in Geni the profile and tree of Miryam Lapiner and apperently she is Scwartz from home and her father's name was Binyamin Schwartz. She was married to Yechezkel Lapiner but we have no information in Geni on him in Geni. Please contact the profile manager for more information on the Lapiner side
Nevertheles I think I found the address and telephone of their sons (Yaakov and Moshe Lapiner) so if you want to contact them directly let me know and I will send more information
