This message was cross posted to the 1852 Mormon Pioneer project. If you "follow" or "collaborate" with that project I apologize for the duplicate message...

With some hard work we can reach the 10,000 Mormon Pioneer profile identified by the end of this year. We currently have found 8,814 pioneers.

You can help by adding your 1852 pioneers to the project or by adding any of your pioneers to their respective projects. You also help by looking up pioneers listed here: http://www.lds.org/churchhistory/library/pioneercompanysearch/ and seeing if they already have profiles on geni.

There are also lots of spouses and children of pionners that were them self Mormon pioneers that don't yet have profiles on geni. Please help where you can and we can reach 10,000 by the end of the year.

Hi Randy:

I had 45 ancestors in the Isaac Stewart Company in 1852, so I'll check to make sure all of them are added to the project if I haven't done so already! Thanks for all you do here on geni.com! Have a wonderful holiday!

Best Regards,

Della

That's has to be a record for the number of relatives in one pioneer company. Thanks for checking on each of them. If you haven't done so already please also check on the spouses of each of the 45. Undoubtedly they, or their parents, are probably pioneers also.

Hey, Randy, I think I got them all, along with their spouses and children!
Hope you have a lovely holiday out their in beautiful Vista, CA! I'll be coming out to Oceanside in a few weeks for my aunt's 90th birthday party. It will be good to be back on California soil again--I really miss living there. One of my best friends also lives in Vista!

Best Regards,

Della

I have been busily adding the Pioneers that I can. I have a question for you Randy Stebbing

When I run into Pioneers profiles that I can't add because I don't collaborate with the managers, is it better to ask help from a curator, or is adding a profile from the drop down menu of the prospective year better?

Are the right people seeing those requests?

Randy, I've also been trying to busily add Pioneers - but I wonder if it wouldn't be useful to in some way divide up the work so that we can avoid duplication of effort? I know it's getting harder for me to find the ones that haven't yet been added...

I've been cross-referencing from the LDS Pioneer site and adding profiles to Geni as necessary. Instead of trying to search each Company to try to find who needs to be added, I'd prefer to take a letter of the alphabet and check every single '52 Pioneer whose surname starts with that letter... that way no one else would spend time trying to find those same profiles... I dunno, what do you think?
