Recently GENI featured John Lennons profile as it was his birthday. I surfed around and looked at the various Beatles but none of them seem to be connected to the big tree and their family history does not seem to go back very far. I am surprised at this as it seemed pretty easy for me to find things back for my own family from the UK. I am surprised that modern day genealogist have not been all over the Beatles history and found they were descended from some famous peoples or royalty of some kind. And also, I think many people would like to find out if if they are related to them. How is it that we here can connect easlly to thousands of ancestors but the Beatles have not? Is it because nobody has spent the time to do the research or is it because they were not descended from anyone notable? Or is it because the records only go back so far?
I wondered about that, too, Vicki. I'm not conversant with the British genealogical sources, but I looks like those lines were taken as far as easily-accessible records could reliably take them. The only one going back much further than 4-5 generations is Yoko Ono ... hers goes WAY back!
