Dale NUCKOLLS - My grandfather

Hi Taylor, I am searching for my unknown great grandparents. My grandfather was William M Nuckolls 1856 birth maybe in Va and died 1934 in North Carolina. I searched for over 20 years with many researchers with no luck. Where did your Nuckolls family originally come from? It is a big mystery who they are. The great grandmother maybe Bettie and the great grandfather may have been killed as a deserter in the Civil War. That is the only clues I have to go on. Appreciate any reply. help or advice.
