The time of born before and after the year zero

The time of born and death is easy. Either the year only or added with AD.

But

Born or time of death before the year zero, ends in misunderstanding e.g. I have noticed several versions as;

- (minus) 1300 BC
- (minus) 1300 BCE
- 1300 B.C. that ends to British Columbia etc.

It might be very useful to leave the (minus), because it ends to a duplicate,

The best - in my opinion - is to use BCE

My opinion; to use standard is to forget - the minus and use BCE - it ends to confusion; as like as well GENI has to same standard i.e. any time one use request, to outcome is always familiar. Thanks to GENI-personnel.

You have to use minus in Geni, - there is no support for BC/BCE when entering years.

There wasn't any year zero in any calendar!
All calendars were started with year 1 and year before it is year -1.

Also be aware, talking of years - if someone enters the two-digit year (as one of my relatives did) - for example, born 5/08/61 -- Geni accepts it as born before 100 AD, not born 1961 - and it does this even if it is a claimed account, info entered by the owner of the Profile.
