My family tree on Geni is only two weeks old. People are slowly joining Geni. I'm surprised that my Family Group only includes 22 people, while my great-grandfather has 427 descendants (didn't count how many deceased). Is it because my Family Group only includes people with Geni accounts? I could not find such explanation on the page about "Family Group" ( http://www.geni.com/account_settings/family ). Thanks for your help and/or comments. Sincerely, Virgilio A. P. Machado
If you view your family group list (Family/Lists menu at the top: http://www.geni.com/list) you will see how many profiles that are withing your family group range.
The number you are seeing in your account setting (http://www.geni.com/account_settings/family) is who and how many of those that is claimed profiles / Geni users.
Bjørn, Thank you so much. In the mean time, through another channel, I learned that you are absolutely correct. It's those that have Geni accounts that count. :-) It should be obvious... Shame the page about Family Group ( http://www.geni.com/account_settings/family ) does not explain that to the uninitiated. One of these days, when I have nothing better to do, I might make that suggestion. How much does Geni pays for each suggestion that they accept? :-)
