Many Geni profiles are of living people, there is no reason they should be removed, how would users build their family trees if profiles of living people were not allowed?
Must i wait for my parents to die before i start recording my ancestors?
Perhaps it will be a great pleasure for Claire Mackarness to google her own name one day and find a wonderful family tree built for her already - this was my experience!

There is nothing stopping users from making profiles for living people and no good reason for them not to.

The profile that this discussion was started from Private is set to Private which means that no one outside of her(?) Family Group can see anything about her other than her name.

If you think putting someones name on an internet web site is a "gross invasion of privacy"... well maybe you need to loosen your tin-foil hat a little bit.
