Hi. I've created some mess on @Torger Pedersen Avlund . I merged three profiles, and got two different sets of parents for the guy. In the one set the mother has the same birth year as Torger, so it would be strange if she's the mother. But I don't want to merge the profiles of the parents if that means I'm ruining someone else's tree.

I tried to choose parents but got the message: "Sorry, choosing those parents would split the tree"

Does anyone have a solution?

Sorry, it should be Torger Pedersen Avlund .

Named Perdersen means the son of Peder, so which parents to select should be easy.

However; - The data conflicts shows that a you have made a bad merge - a Torger Jonsen is merged into that profile too, so cutting loose one of the parent sets will ruin another tree to repair your own.

This Torger Jonsen have to be added as a son of Jon Torgersen Avlund & Anne Amundsdtr, Wifes and children moved over to the correct Torgers before making the split.

Thanks for answering. Unfortunately the profiles are locked and the profile admin for Torger Jonsen Avlund haven't been active for over a year, so I can't seem to be able to add any sons - or anything.

Thanks anyway.

I am having the same error message "Sorry, choosing those parents would split the tree".

There was a merge of Christopher and Chris Schlachter as they are the same person, but the exclamation mark still appears. After the merge, Chris has two sets of parents : his real parents and the same parents of his spouse Chantale.

I am trying to choose the right set of parents and the error message appears.

I fixed the "duplicate exclamation mark" problem, but I lost the connection to Chris's family. The Schlater link was created by him:

"Chris Schlachter was added to the tree by Andrew Dumaresq.
