Max Oguss - Existence of Max Oguss b. abt 1918

This information came from the 1920 census. But there was never a mention in the family of such a sibling. There was a living relative named Max Oguss at that time. Jewish custom is to not name a baby after a living relative. No other records of this Max have been found. The most likely explanation is that there may have occurred a misunderstanding between the census taker and Nathan Oguss, who was an immigrant. Perhaps his brother Max was mentioned and the census taker recorded him as a child of Nathan.
