Seriously, though, that's supposed to be a black band across the corner of the profile photo, indicating that the person is deceased. Apparently we triggered something else for some people.

Can you try holding the Ctrl key while clicking the refresh icon (the up/down arrows to the right of the http:// address bar at top) to see if that fixes it?

Did the control refresh thing but the icons are still visible on the thumb nails when one gets a list from search people. The profiles when requested have the correct black band.
