Hello Randy and Peter,

I am trying to read the groom surname in the first record of 1875 on page 6 of film 936 at Badatelna. It's towards the bottom of the page. I can see that the bride is Sara, daughter of Moses Jellinek and Sali Freund. The groom is Bernhard, son of Moritz [illegible surname] of Szanitz (right?) and Nanette Bohm. What do you make of the groom's surname?

Thanks for any suggestions,
Michael

Steinmann?

Michael, can you include the image link - be it on Badatelna or already on Geni ??

@Randy: Looks plausible. I can see the "S" and the "einmann", though never would have deciphered that on my own. I have compared to the surname STEIN in the last entry on page 146 on film 932 (a birth record, but roughly contemporaneous), where the "t" is much less elaborate. Could there be a W in there instead of ST?

@Peter: The Batadelna site is designed to make it difficult to link directly or to make copies. I've captured the relevant bit and will load to Geni in an album attached to this project. See what you think!

Weinmann is possible also.

Weinmann.

Thanks, Randy and Tanya. I just noticed that the "Ort" column on this record reads "Gaya, Wien." The "W" is identical to the start of the surname in question, so I think it must indeed be Weinmann. Case closed!
