Peter Dennis...Gone fishing! Hi Peter, Your observation makes a lot of sense. Before I move or change anything, I want to check with Private User. We still need to merge our two trees. I have started but have not gotten down to this level yet.
Is this tree also part of your family tree?
Hi Schalk,Yes the tree is part of my tree. The van Collers connect to the Cronje's who connecty to my wife.
The children of B2 Johan Daniel (1752) are
c1 Adolf Johannes 1777
c2 Philippus Marthinus1779
c3 Elsabe Maria 1781
c4 Johannes Daniel 1783
c5 Hendrik Petrus 1786
c6 Johanna Elizabeth 1789
Philippus Marthinus is the only one who also has a child named Philippus Marthinus . Regards,Peter
Hi @Peter Dennis,
Let me understand what you have found :
We have Phillipus married to Susanna Cronje, the have a child also called Phillipus who was married to a lady with the Surname Heydenrych?
The younger one is the one involved in the Boer War that died in the concentration camp at Vredefort Road.
Thanks for the input!
Regards,
Schalk
Hi.
I'm new to all this online genealogical work - more used to old-fashioned archives and deeds office!
However, in my research into Bakkerskloof, Helderberg, WCape, I've found that Andries Conterman took transfer in 1800. His widow, Elsabe Maria Conterman (nee van Coller) sold it in 1844.
So, if these are the same people you are researching, we now know he died after 1800 but before 1844.
Does anyone know anything about their farm, Bakkerskloof?
Regards
Kathy

Hi, I'm totally new to this finding ancestors and it was a total disaster from the word go!
My grandfather, Jan Daniel van Coller, was according to family records born on 27 October 1892 in Parys. I checked with all the churches and according to the Dutch Reormed Church a Van Coller was born in Parys on 27 October 1893, but he was Johannes Daniel van Coller born to Philippus Lodewyk Petrus and Christina Catharina (Pretorius) van Coller.
Where to from here? Who is to be believed? Taking the wrong path could send you in totally the wrong direction!
Help will be appreciated.
