Earlene Lenora Perry (Mitchell) - Anyone Filice lines from CA?

Hello Earlene,
My great grandmother was a Filice, or Felice. She was married to Tom Florio. They came from Donnici Inferior to Ellis Island with family. Eventually ending in San Jose, CA where they are buried.

I looked on ancestry.com for Tom Florio and got: Thos or Thomas Florie~Born 17 Feb 1870 and died in San Jose Ca 10 March 1944He was married to a Rose. His mother's maiden name was: Fortino. My great great grandmother's maiden name was Fortino. They were from Donnici Inferiore Cosenza Calbria Italy, too. If you know anyone there, it would be nice to see if ther is a graveyard for gravemarkers.Have you travelled to Italy?
My great grandfather and great great grandfather and spouces all came to San Jose in the 1914, 1915 and 1920 time frame. My family ended up in Hollister.
I would be happy to look up anything for you. Who knows, there might be a connection.

What was your great great grandmother's first name? Mine was also a Fortino. She died in West Virginia and her daughter, stayed behind there on the way to California.

What fun to see this discussion pop up on my home page! I am not related to either family but I have been to Fortino Winery many times and Felice is a well-known name in San Jose -- insurance, western gear, etc.

There are 50 graves listed for the Felice family in California at www.findagrave.com. There are 36 Fortinos listed for California. The two of you are probably related and probably have many cousins to meet!
