http://www.geni.com/account_settings/blocked_users - as of today, under teh bold heading "Blocked Users" from that section under Account Settings, it STILL reads:
“Prevent specific users from contacting you or performing actions on profiles you manage. Blocking a user also removes them from your family groups.” -- NOTE -- "...OR PERFORMING ACTIONS ON PROFILES YOU MANAGE ..."
In another Discussion, Blocking came up and on 5/16/2012, in the following message (posted 11:32 AM, according to timestamp as I see it, CDT in USA)
http://www.geni.com/discussions/105873?msg=791348 it quoted the Help FAQ as giving the same info -- From the Geni Help screen -
"You may to use the Block Users feature. By adding someone to this list:
Any friend, family group, or collaborator relationship is removed
They can't see your email address or the email address on any profile you manage
They can't contact you
They can't edit any profiles you manage"
tho Eldon, in a posting two messages above this one, demonstrated that he had a different understanding by stating “Blocking is for communication only.”
On May 16, at 14:10 (as I see time, in CDT in USA) a new FAQ was substituted for the one quoted above: http://help.geni.com/entries/21453997-how-can-i-block-another-geni-... which has dropped any mention of blocking stopping folks from editing the profiles you manage.
QUESTION: Does anyone know exactly when Blocked Users stopped being blocked from editing the profiles a person managed? Are there any circumstances where they are still blocked from editing a profile (private ones you are sole manager of, or??)?
