Elias Witmer - Elias H. Witmer, Co. E, 79th Pennsylvania

Elias Witmer served in the 79th Pennsylvania from October 1861 until his death at the Battle of Chickamauga in September 1863. He regularly wrote letters for publication in the Lancaster Daily Evening Express. More information--and many of the letters--are available at:
