Peter Stanley - Who are the real parents of Peter Stanley????

Peter is my 11th G-grandfather. He cannot be the son of Thomas Stanley because Thomas died in 1521 and Peter was born 18 years later in 1539. Another source I have come across has Sir James de Stanley as his father but he also died around 1521. Anyone have any ideas or does someone live in England and could research this?
