This theory is the one that seems to be correct at first glance, but I have seen no concrete proof to substantiate it. It indicates that Moses Mathews' son, William, is our William. Nothing is offered to counter the Boots Theory. As we see in the Pendergrass and Underwood Theories, this doesn't mean we are following the wrong line, just the wrong branch. See Palmer, Jerry Mathews, "Genealogy of the Mathews Family of Ancient Wales, England and America," page 60.

This is Marc Matthews of St. Augustine Florida, My FT DNA (kit is 116493) and my DNA has been tested by several other labs, with out any big difference. My personal understanding is from the DNA experts that I have talked with, suggest "if I can find individuals with DNA Markers reflecting A600+ L-21+, S-775+, DF41+ etc". it will prove we are related sometime in history. But for what ever reason there are some, but very few DNA tested people that really correspond with me that are interested in determining if my/our line's of Matthews/Mathew/ Mathews/Mathis etc. are truly connected? especially to determining the common line Origins like Wales or Scotland or Ireland? which could all be possible through history periods of migration. I have traced my direct paternal line of Mathew(s) to New Haven, Ct. 1600's to my 7th great grandfather William Mathews and his wife Jane or Joan and their 4-children of which I descend from son Caleb Mathews. I also know my S-775+ Marker found in my FTDNA Big-Y 500/700 Test reflects my line traces back several hundred years back in time, were related to the progenitors of the line, that would become the Royal Stewart's of Scotland.
