I think the story of lthe 3 brothers and Lanning parents coming from Wales is incorrect, and probably got confused over the yeaars of storytellilng. It does not make sense that a family, in the 1600s, would travel from Wales, in south UK, to Hull in Yorkshire to sail to America. There were other, much closer ports they could have used.

I found a tiny town named Wales, in Yorkshire, which seems much more likely. I would appreciate any comments or ideas.

I did find a John Lanning & daughter Beatrice in the Wales, Yorkshire, parish records for the mid-1600s.

Also, my brick wall is Joseph Lanning b. 1745, Hunterdon, NJ; d. 1814 there. I do not believe he is the sonof Isaac Lanning & Sarah Hunt. Suggestions?

Best wishes to all Lannings! Arlene
