The remove option (i.e. cut a connection) will not be available if it will result in splitting the tree (getting unconnected profiles).
If public profiles a curator can help you with that, but if you are going to reconnect the profile(s) another place making that connection first might enable the remove option.
Christopher, almost every page on Geni is generated dynamically for the user who's logged in. What I see at http://www.geni.com/home is different than what you see, and the same is true of that edit_relationships link above. Hope that clarifies matters!

Eldon, - it's a chicken and egg problem again: you are only able to enter the edit_relationships tab of a profile if you have edit rights to it, but I am a bit unsure about Pro users rights on public profiles where they don't collaborate with a manager or is not a manager yourself.
As you know Pro users have edit rights to public profiles with the exception of fields that is not yet under revision control, and connections is one of them. Could anyone check if you are able to view the relationship tab at all on such profiles?
http://www.geni.com/people/Lars-S%C3%B6derstr%C3%B6m/51277973965700... - That is what I remember as being the reason and it makes perfect sense.
