The following poem was kept by Shirley in a photo album.

Have you ever stopped at the end of the day, to ask yourself these questions, and say,

How have you lived your life today?
Have I done things God's way?
Have I been patient, kind, and good?
Have I done things I know I should?
Have I gone out of my way to do a kind deed?
Have I fed the hungry and helped someone in need?
Does anyone know that I really care and and will help with the burdens they bear?
Is the world a happier place in which I live because of the things I have to give?
Have persons I care for fallen or gone astray? Have I helped them back to the upward way?
Are the things I have said good or bad? Have they made someone happy or sad?
Oh, the time is so short and our days are so few; Let us start doing the things God wants us to do.
If we do these things in the days that remain, then we will know that our lives have not been in vain.
