Jemima Washington Hebb - Washington-Jenkins

A group of us Hebb descendants did extensive research on Smith Jenkins, Thomas Washington and Ann Muse. We discovered that Thomas Washington is from the EDWARD Washington line- no relation to Gen George Washington. See also research done by Muse family researchers. Our Jemima was born about 1758; Jemima Jenkins was born 1767. There were TWO Jemima Washingtons. In the past, all researchers picked up on the Jemima Washington Jenkins since no records could be found for our Jemima. In addition, our Jemima was still alive in 1820 as stated in William Hebb's statement to the court. My best guess is that our Jemima came from "Digby" (Lawrence) Washington which would make her related to the President. Unfortunately, all my research was given to my son (who is not into geneology) so I am working from memory. My suggestion is for all to research Smith Jenkins (census records) and read the Muse publications, as well as researching the Edward Washington line.
