I am interested in DNA genealogy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_genealogy).
There is an idea - to check whether all Edelstein distant relatives or not. I think that ancestors of my great-grandfather came to the Tauride province from Poland or Lithuania. In family of my great grandfather had seven children. I think that in the family of his parents was no less. The descendants of Zalman Edelstein from Kakhovka live in Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Israel, United States.
Now we can check whether we have a common ancestor and determine how many years he lived. It is enough to compare our genomes. If you are a descendant through the female line Edelstein is better to take the test at 23andMe. If through paternal line - at the Family Tree DNA (Y-chromosome).

Vladimir,

Why do you recommend 23andMe for Maternal line? @Vladimir Gurianov

In this case it is better to do a test on the autosomes. At that time, at 23&Me it was cheaper.
