Hello, My name is Grace, I have a question about Geat's sons. I found somewhere on the web that Geat had two sons named Hulmul, and Godwulf, no mention of another brother named FIN. On this tree, it appears Geat has two sons, Godwulf and Fin. And Humul appears as the son of GAPT. Everything else on my line up and down matches the info here, except for that person. Can someone help?
Hulmul is my 67generation direct- line ancestor. On GENI tree it appears Hulmul as son of Gapt, but I also read from one of the dicussions that Gapt might be Geat. There is no mother mentioned either.
Thank you

It looks, from the dates in the profiles, like Finn, {Anglo Saxon Chronicle} is misplaced. You could contact the profile manager directly and search for the correctly placed Fin as an alternate to offer him.

Of course keeping in mind these are fairly mythical profiles that are difficult to date with much accuracy. :)

That sounds really unlikely Eero if for Grace he calculates as 67th. There's a tree problem.

Thanks to all. Yes it seems that generation wise we could not be that far apart, from 46 to 67. Even if, in my case, all that line of ancestors had babies very young, producing closer gaps between generations.

But yes these records are inaccurate. I've read in cases, at least in my tree, where a younger brother is mistaken by son in a couple of instances, although I am not sure it happens in this particular line.

Does any body know how to estimate this? I figured, that if I calculate 20-25 years between generations, 67x25=1675+215= 1890+my age (215 being the estimated year of Birth of Geat.) For Eero calculating w a bigger gap 46x35=1610+215=1825+Eero's age. It seems more likely to have more generations, but on the other hand I am not sure if those people had their kids young or old, or both for that matter. From what I know men and women were more likely to start very young, around 15, and end old 65-70, specially men. Too many variables.

Anyway, I will follow your suggestion about Fin. It seems there is a son of Godwulf named Fin. I'll keep researching.
Thank you Erica.
