I heard stories from my grandma that Genl. Christiaan Rudolf de Wet is a relitive of mine.

Can anyone please help me with any information regarding the De Wet family tree up until now?

Hi Jaques, it depends on what info you're looking for. My grandmother was one of his daughters, I don't know how much you know about the general. My grandmother married an Englisman and he wrote her out of the family history. She changed her sirname to de Witt but on her death certificate it is de Wet. He had 16 children, 8 sons and 8 daughters. I'm missing the names of 2 daughters but I think they died young. Give me more details on what you want to know and where you fit in, maybe I can help as I found out a lot about the general. Regards, Gerda

Hi Jaques, my mother - Jeanette Gregan de Wet, Petrus (Pieter) de Wet 20/4/1726 - 30/1/1782 is her 4 x great grandfather. If you google HandDuval.com you can contact this gentleman in the USA who has a mountain of De Wet information incorporating info from the book "The Family de Wet" by Henk Christoffel de Wet - all of which has been thoroughly researched. My mother's father is Johannes Jordaan de Wet 10/3/1881 - 18/9/1962.
Hope this helps you and please pass on to others.
Regards Terrence Giliam
