Ive been researching my family for about 5 years now. Our line starts with a john taylor that was probably born in England and possibly lived and married in Scotland or Ireland to a full irish woman and came to American prior to the Revolution. He fought in the Rev. War and was at Valley forge with General Washington. He had a son George Washington Taylor that was born in or around Halifax county, VA around 1781. We know at the age of 12 George and parents moved to Randolph county, NC. George married an Elizabeth Harrell (marriage date and place unknown). George was in the war of 1812. Together they had 11 childres: nathan, Allen, John, Lillian, Mary, Phebe, Miriam, Martha Elizabeth, Nancy, Abner and George Washington Jr (my line). I think Lillian and Mary may have died in infancy. I find all the others in first Stokes county, NC which later becomes Forysth county. Nancy married a Samuel Weavil, Abner married a Edna Hodges(went to Indiana), George W Jr(went to Tennessee, then Iowa), Phebe married Archibald Cooper late in age(went to Indiana), Martha Elizabeth married George Newsome, Miriam married William Morgan. Im looking for info on the rest of them. I've seen possibilites on ancestry.com but i don't want to add info unless i have proof. There are so many people on there adding my George W. Taylor sr parents as George Taylor and Elizabeth Anyon. This isn't correct! We have a letter from Abner stating that his grandfather was John Taylor. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
