Medlands records Hugh de Vernon son of William de Vernon & Lucy de Tancarville as a Cleric and they do not record any partners or issue whereas this profile suggests he was a Baron and married ? de Knightley and had a son Warin. Does anyone have any sources to suggest which of these is correct?
There are other mistakes in this tree that I am in the process of correcting.

Here is some background information on the Vernon family, maybe it will help:

Following on (only 5 years later!) - is there any actual source for Hugh's wife being Margaret de Knightley? The links in the above thread - the tony bostock document is no longer on his site, and the Heraldic Illustrations Pedigree does not specify wife's name. There is no apparent source reference on the internet. On the other hand, there are references to his wife being (possibly) Mathea de Baillot, eg Ormerod Chester Vol 3. If anyone has a reference to the Vernon/Knightley marriage I'd be interested to know!
