William Haze was involved in an accident onboard the SS Apollo in hull docks on the 22nd october 1889 when the crane onboard a ship collapsed and hit him in the chest he was taken to hull royal infirmary at 4 prospect street Hull where he died of his injuries on 29th October. On the1st November he was buried in spring bank cemetery hull
