Bertha Mae Garrett Hogan, age 66 of Gainesville, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with entombment to follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Brother Josh Cofield will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 18, 2011 from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hogan was born February 3, 1945 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Carl Edward Garrett and Lona Mae Roberts Garrett. She was retired from Siemens USA and was a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Ernest Garrett and her great-granddaughter, Amoree Martin.
Mrs. Hogan is survived by her husband, Marvin Hogan of Gainesville, her daughters & sons-in-laws, Lori & Michael Waters of Gainesville and Lisa & Greg Stenzel of Gainesville, son, Nathan Hogan of Tallahassee, Florida, grandchildren, Jamie Martin, Nikki McDaniel, Mikey Waters, Gregory Stenzel, John Stenzel, Natalie Hogan and Marvin “Bubba” Hogan III, great-grandchildren, Lane McDaniel and Zoey Martin, and sisters, Bonnie Griffin of Nicholson, Georgia and Zara Mercer of Pink Hill, North Carolina.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504 is in charge of arrangements.
