I have ended up this week working in Rhode Island. My usual haunts are Great Migration and subsequent Connecticut and Massachusetts. I looked at two families and a group of French Huguenot families. Reynolds and Greene and the families of Frenchtown (Kingstown or East Greenwich).

Erica Howton is going to help with the Reynolds. I have Greene ancestors. I know some of you have more knowledge and links to early Rhode Island than I do by far, including some who are descendants of the French Huguenots, such as the Tourgee family. Pierre Tourgee, Père

Is anyone interested in a series of Rhode Island projects, starting with an umbrella project?

Please add a link to your Rhode Island related project to this umbrella project. Please join the project and initiate discussions if you work on Rhode Island genealogy and history.

Ah, the Roger Wiliams State.

I'll link the King Philip's War Project.

Guess what Hatte - I'm a Greene too.

Elizabeth Barker is my 15th great grandmother.

She's my X great grandmother as well. I detached her from the wrong William Greene (born in the 1600s) and attached her to William of Aston in Claverley, Shropshire (d. 1443). The younger William Greene (1600s) was a Rhode Island Greene. I'm not sure how the Greenes of Rhode Island now relate to Elizabeth Barker (Greene) but it looks like Shropshire was the origin of a number of the Greene / Barker families of Rhode Island. I'm guessing she was a relative of the other Greenes.

I have now projects for Reynolds (someone else's project), Greene, and Barker.

Here's my path to Elizabeth Barker (Greene). However there's an issue with her "son" who is the wrong John Barker I believe.

Um Hatte? The "someone else" Reynolds project was started by me and Ned Reynolds.:) It's for all Reynolds lines. There is an excellent family association that long since established all the first American immigrants.

I'm tracking the Barkers now. I think you should do the Reynolds :) As for the Greenes, I hope to find a volunteer to help.

Excellent Malka Mysels. I saw that you started these projects.

They have yet to figure out how/whether my Richard Williams family is related to several other Williams families, including Roger Williams.
