Dear family,
Geni has changed - unfortunately now needs individual subscription (about $4.95/month, or $299 for life time) in order to send wishes to each other (such as birthday, anniversary, etc.). So as a work around, you can still send a "message" to an individual. Here is how you do it:

Go to home page
You will see a little red icon with a number on the top left to your profile photo,
click the icon, and then select "Inbox messages"
You will then see a "Compose" button.
Press the compose button to send message whoever you want to send.

In order to keep up with changes (such as duplicates, change in name, adding new member etc.), one of us has to pay this due. I am thinking of becoming life time subscriber ($299) to manage the site if some of you are willing to chip in in some way. Let me know.

Hello Manish (Ashok) Mehta. You do not need a membership to send just a greeting - only if you wish to attach a virtual gift to your greeting.

We would certainly appreciate the support if you chose to purchase a lifetime subscription, though. Thank you for being such a passionate user.

Good news....as of today, the greetings capability is back on. So continue to send messages as you did before. I think Geni corrected the situation as of yesterday.

That may be good news - but frankly, for me Geni has been crippled and I can no longer merge profiles and sort out issues to help the development of our family tree.. I will be looking elsewhere in the future for genealogy to help with!
